Wow Them At Your Entry!!
An entryway can be very impactful to the visitor and will set the tone for what the rest of the home is going to look like. It is just like meeting someone for the first time and you size that person up by the clothes they are wearing even before they speak their first word to you.
Simple entryway with not a lot of space allotted to it, but the simple details of the plexi console, wicker weaved baskets, book and table lamp make this space cheerful!
Entryways should be thoughtfully considered and discussed by the architect and the client before the project is finalized.
You might want to ask you architect for the entry to have a focal point such as a wall for dramatic art or even better if you have a ocean or mountain view. As your guests entry their eye will be lead out to your amazing view. They will feel the impact of that view and it can change their mood for the better. It is amazing how impactful and powerful nature can move a humans emotions!
But, if you already have an existing entry, it is not too late to stop and contemplate what changes you can make by adding furniture, lighting, art and accessories that will make a visual impact on your entry space.
Great focal points can be art, mirrors, lighting, console tables, bench seats, and ottomans.
A large entryway allows for a round table that can display accessories such as fresh flowers, your favorite books, bowls and artifacts to share with your guest. This table set up will also allow the guest eye to continue on thru the home.
I have included many different entryway styles from traditional, organic to modern for inspiration.
Also, some of these images posted show you entry spaces that are very formal and large to smaller and more intimate spaces. But, if done right, they will have the same impact to your home as a larger spaces do!
I will have a commentary of my thoughts below each image on what I love about the entry so as to help you make great decisions on improving your space.
Have fun, be bold with your entry. You have nothing to loose but time to create something that can bring joy to your and your guests every time they enter! People appreciate your space more than you think and they get great emotional value from it! This also speak a lot to who you are as a person.
